Andreev joins Lech on loan

After passing medical tests and completing all formalities, Plamen Andreev has officially joined Lech’s first team on a six-month loan. The Polish Champions hold an option to buy the goalkeeper from Feyenoord Rotterdam.

The 21-year-old first underwent medical tests at the Rehasport clinic, and after all paperwork was finalised, he signed a contract with the club from Poznań. The Bulgarian has joined Lech on loan until the end of the current season, with the club retaining an option to make the move permanent.

"Plamen Andreev joins us from Feyenoord Rotterdam on a six-month loan with a buyout option. He is a young, talented goalkeeper who competes for the Bulgarian youth national team. He has made over 60 appearances in the Bulgarian top division before moving to the Netherlands. He has already made his debut for Feyenoord and spent the autumn half of the season on loan at the Spanish second division club, Racing Santander. We believe he will strengthen competition among the goalkeepers. He has many strengths - excellent reflexes, effective goal-line saves, the ability to win one-on-one duels, and he is also very strong in the air," explained Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.

Andreev is a graduate of Levski Sofia, where he took his first steps in senior football. In total, the Bulgarian made 89 appearances for the first team, keeping 53 clean sheets and winning the Bulgarian Cup with the club. He then moved to the Netherlands to join Feyenoord Rotterdam, where he played in one match. The 21-year-old spent the autumn on loan at Racing Santander, making five appearances. Now the goalkeeper will strengthen competition among Lech’s keepers and fight for a spot in the starting line-up.

"Lech is a club with a rich history, many trophies to its name, and the most passionate supporters in the country. The team will be competing on three fronts in the spring and has high ambitions in every competition, so I hope I will be able to help the club achieve its objectives," emphasised Lech’s new keeper.
