Timur Zhamaletdinov is going to stay at Lech Poznan. The Polish club reached an agreement with CSKA Moscow regarding a one-year loan with the option of buyout at the end of 2019/20 season.
The Russian player joined Lech six months ago. Until now, he had the chance to compete in 7 matches for the senior team and managed to score one goal in the clash with Jagiellonia Bialystok (3:3). In addition, Zhamaletdinov also played for the reserves twice and found the back of the net once while performing for the B team.
Following the end of the most recent season, Lech Poznan decided to extend Zhamaletdinov’s loan. In addition, the new contract includes a buyout clause. “We decided to keep Timur around for at least another year to let him show his full potential. During the past few months, he was struggling with injuries which stopped him from showing us what he is truly capable of. We are hoping that Timur is going to play a key role in the squad throughout the upcoming season,” explained Tomasz Rzasa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
Zhamaletdinov is CSKA Moscow’s homegrown player that climbed up the academy ranks. He has 41 caps for the Russian senior team and 5 goals on his account.
