Zagłębie Lubin - Lech Poznań 2:1

Zaglebie kicked off the game with a scoring chance. In the 3^rd minute, the hosts were given a free kick and Starzynski converted it into a cross. However, Tuszynski failed to control the ball in Lech’s penalty area. Shortly afterward, Lech’s keeper was left helpless when Janoszka sent the ball flying into the back of the net.

The team from Poznan was determined to equalize quickly but they struggled to break apart Zaglebie’s defensive line. It took Lech 30 minutes to create the first scoring chance. Makuszewski was the one who crossed the ball into the rival’s box and Janicki intercepted it and fired a shot off target. A moment later, Cywka sent a long ball to Tiba who failed to stop the ball from leaving the pitch.

The second half began well for the guests who equalized in the 49^th minute. Tiba sent a pass into the box where Gytkjaer was waiting. The Dane, instead of shooting, passed to Cywka who placed the ball in the back of the net. However, Zaglebie quickly took the lead by scoring the second goal. This time it was Tuszynski’s header was turned out to be unstoppable for Lech’s keeper. Amaral had a great chance to equalize shortly afterward but his attempt was off target.

The two teams had multiple scoring chances in the last 15 minutes, however, they lacked precision and struggled to finish off the offensive actions. In the 84^th minute, Tiba sent the ball to Gytkjaer who was positioned well in the box but the pass was intercepted at the last moment. During the last couple of minutes, Lech occupied Zaglebie’s half permanently but the intensified attacks didn’t bring desirable effects and it was Zaglebie that won the Sunday league game.
