On Friday night, Lech will attempt to get back on the winning track. However, in order to do that, Mariusz Rumak’s players need to improve their effectiveness – it’s been 450 minutes since they found the back of the net. “We have been working hard on the offensive and we will try to show it in the upcoming matches. One thing for sure is that we need to create more goal-scoring opportunities,” explained Lech’s coach.
On Friday night (15.03, 8:30 pm), Lech will face Warta in a local derby. Effectiveness in the offence is the key focus for the upcoming match as Lech has failed to score in the past four games – against Śląsk Wrocław (0:0), Pogoń Szczecin (0:1), Raków Częstochowa (0:4), and Górnik Zabrze (0:0). However, the current league ranks still leave room for turning tables and the final ten rounds will be decisive in the context of the Polish Championship.
“During training sessions, we work both the defence and the offence. Indeed, during the winter off-season, we put a big emphasis on the organization of play and transitory phases so that we’d be able to quickly rebuild our positioning after losing the ball. Back then, it was all about stabilization of the defence,” explained Mariusz Rumak.
What about the offensive? “Of course, we are not trying to gloss over the reality and we don’t think that everything is alright. The fans have noticed a problem and so have we. One thing for sure is that we need to create more goal-scoring opportunities. Only in that way will we be able to improve our effectiveness. We have been working hard on the offensive and we will try to show it in the upcoming matches,” emphasized Lech’s coach.
