Lech’s performance in the Saturday league game might not have been the most impressive, but it was efficient. John van den Brom’s squad added three points to their account after they defeated Wisła Płock 1:0.
Radosław Murawski was the hero of last weekend’s game as the midfielder scored the winner in the away clash with Wisła Płock. In the 20th minute, the Pole recovered the ball from Damian Rasak near the penalty area and beat Wisła’s goalkeeper with a precise shot by the post. This opponent is a special one for Murawski – in the 60 appearances he has made for Lech so far, the midfielder scored three goals, two of them against Wisła Płock.
Lech had one more hero in the Saturday match – it was Filip Bednarek who saved his squad from conceding a goal numerous times. The goalkeeper played a crucial role, which coach John van den Brom emphasized in the post-match press conference when he said that Lech performed worse than in the previous games, but thanks to a clean sheet, they held onto the three points.
Now the squad from Poznań has a few days to prepare for the round of 16 of the Europa Conference League where they will face FK Bodo/Glimt in an away game. The Thursday kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 pm. The second leg will take place in Poznań the following week, at 9 pm.
