Lech Poznań decided to send Filip Wilak on loan to another PKO BP Ekstraklasa klub – Ruch Chorzów. The young winger will spend the upcoming 6 months in Southern Poland. The contract will last until June 30th, 2024.
The 20-year-old is a Lech Poznań homegrown player. He made his official debut in the Polish top division in spring 2023. He had a great season for Lech’s B team – the winger scored 13 times in 24 third-division games. John van den Brom promoted the youngster to the senior squad and in autumn this year, Wilak made an appearance in 7 league matches, as well as 2 Fortuna Polish Cup clashes - in which he scored twice (against Zawisza Bydgoszcz, (4:0)).
Now the talented winger is going to compete for the PKO BP Ekstraklasa newcomers – Ruch Chorzów. “The most important thing for Filip is to play regularly, hence the decision for a temporary transfer. We hope that the 6 months in Ruch will be a valuable experience for Wilak, enabling him to reach a higher level,” said Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
