About Lech's play
There is no point in denying, because its crystal clear that for the players the European matches are unique. Its easier for them to motivate themselves for the Europa League games than the league ones. We would like to have a good kick-off, especially that we know how hard it is going to be to advance to the next stage.
Most of all, we want to rebuild the fans' trust. We cannot run away from the stands' unpleasant reaction. We have to deal with everything that is happening around us and start winning. For me the mental attitude is a really important aspect ahead of tomorrow's match. We need to be ourselves.
About Belenenses
There is no similar team in the Polish league. They are a group of ambitious, determined players who are also ell trained in terms of technique. It's a very demanding rival, but we know their weaknesses and we are planning to exploit them. I am sure that they still have the lost derby game and the poor league start at the back of their minds and so tomorrow they are going to be highly motivated and eager to win.
When I look at the Portuguese team's performance in Europa League I am surprised with their technical skills. Belenenses is brave when playing on the opponent's home ground and since the opening minutes their aim was to score fast, and therefore I think tomorrow it will be no different.
About the priorities for the nearest future...
If someone was to tell me two months ago that we would play in Europa League group phase and yet we would play the first match in such poor moods, I wouldn't believe any of it. It is an opportunity to celebrate and yet it's been diminished by the poor performance in the league. I wont deny that for me saving the league is a priority. We have to start collecting points and focus on playing our best before it's time for international break.
For me as a coach the competition in Europa League is the most important challenge. Unfortunately, currently we are in a situation that requires putting up a fight in the league; what's best for the club counts, not my own ambitions.
About the absences...
For sure Marcin Robak won't appear tomorrow because he is not yet training with the rest of the group. In addition, Maciej Gajos suffered an injury of the ankle and he cannot be considered when deciding about the squad. We might let Darko Jevtic back into the squad since he has been training with the team for a few days now.
About Ricardo Sa Pinto
It is true that I have met Ricardo Sa Pinto before. Back then we failed in the match in Warsaw when we lost a goal in the last minutes of the game. In the second leg we had our chances, but we failed to convert them into goals and so we were eliminated from Europa League. I regretted the ways things turned out back then, but I hope that now, with Lech, we will advance further.
