“I don’t want to focus on Cracovia because we have our own goals. Our aim is to perform as well as we can and play until the end in order to win. This is what you can expect to see in Cracow,” said Dariusz Zuraw, Lech’s coach, ahead of the upcoming league clash.
The squad for the Saturday league match remains similar to the one from the most recent game. Apart from Gytkjaer who has just started training again, coach Zuraw will also have a couple of extra players who paused due to yellow cards at his disposal. “Janicki and Makuszewski are back – these are the two players who were absent during the game with Zaglebie Lubin. Gytkjaer has also started training again but we will have to wait until Saturday to see how he feels,” explained Zuraw.
So far, the team from Poznan hasn’t lost a single playoff match in the championship group, however, 3 draws and a win are not satisfactory for the coaching staff.
“I remain slightly dissatisfied with the results we have achieved so far in this last phase of the season, especially in the context of the clash with Jagiellonia during which we were winning, and the matches against Pogon and Zaglebie. Every one of those games could have ended differently, however, with a bit of luck, I believe we could have more points on our account. If at least one of those ties turned into a winner, I would be more pleased with our current situation,” said Zuraw. “There were moments when we retreated back and didn’t employ high pressing like I would have liked us to. However, it takes a lot of hard work, hence we will have to wait to see results. Despite injuries and other team issues, we are still capable of creating numerous scoring chances,” added the coach.
Lech’s coach emphasized his admiration for Cracovia, especially in the context of the team’s ability to recover from a crisis. “Cracovia is an example of how important it is to be patient. Some things come with time. They had some difficult moments during the playoffs; sometimes they played better, sometimes worse. Nonetheless, I don’t expect this game to be an easy one. Looking at how my squad is performing during training sessions, I think we are capable of matching Cracovia and putting on a good fight,” summarized Zuraw.
