The match against Pogoń Szczecin will be coach Bjelica’s first league clash. “We have an idea how to lead the team. The fans will get to know our tactics on Sunday in the game with Pogoń,” said Rene Poms, coach assistant.
The new staff joined Lech Poznań last week. The assistant coach reassures that all the preparations to the upcoming league clash are going as planned. “Our analysts did an outstanding job. We received a lot of valuable information on our rival,” explained Poms, adding that “we want to focus on possession of the ball, because this is the key to scoring. The defensive play? We concentrate on good organization of the whole team.”
The team from Poznan has already had a couple of training sessions with the new coach. In addition, Lech played a friendly match with Olimpia Grudziądz. It enabled the new staff to get to know the players better. “We have a strong team. The players are skilled and have character. As the time goes, we will be able to say much more, but as for now, we are very pleased with how the squad is working during training sessions,” emphasized Poms.
On Wednesday the footballers that left for National Teams’ groupings are going to join the rest of the squad. “It is hard to prepare the team when many players are away. In a club like Lech there are always a couple of footballers who get a call to join their National Team. We missed many key players, but so did other clubs, so we cannot complain. I am sure that as for now we are well prepared to face Pogoń,” explained the assistant coach.
