On Friday Nikola Vujadinović signed a contract with Lech Poznan. The deal will last 2 years with an option to extend the agreement for another season.
The 30-year-old Montenegrin is a center back. The defender has recently played for Osasuna - a Spanish football club he joined after a year-and-a-half stay in China. This spring the center back played in 10 games in the Spanish La Liga. His career also includes the likes of Udinese and Sturm Graz. The Montenegrin also competed for the youth national teams 6 times.
The footballer was being observed by Lech’s scouts for a couple of years. “We need center backs and we’re finally signing them and, what’s important, they are all quality players. We are happy to welcome Nikola. He is an immensely experienced footballer. We hope his knowledge and skills will come in handy whilst playing for Lech,” said Piotr Rutkowski, Lech’s vice-chairman.
One of Vujadinovic’s biggest assets is his physique. The defender is good in the air, also with set pieces. Despite playing as a center back, the Montenegrin scored 6 goals during his career. He is a left-footed player who’s good one-on-one thanks to his ability to predict the rival’s next move.
“I know Lech is one of the best clubs in Poland. I have a good relationship with coach Bjelica who told me a lot of good things about the club. Lech is a team that wins trophies, fights for the Championship and is determined to triumph. My ambitions are similar. There are a lot of reasons why I joined Lech,” explained Vujadinovic.
Its Lech’s 8th transfer this summer. The club from Poznan has already signed Vernon De Marco, Emir Dilaver (defenders), Mario Situm, Niklas Barkroth (midfielders), as well as Christian Gytkjaer and Deniss Rakels (forwards). In addition, Lech bought Maciej Makuszewski from Lechia Gdansk.
