On Thursday, the stadium will be reopened for the fans! Zbigniew Hoffmann, Voivode of Greater Poland, has announced that following Lech’s motion he decided to decrease the duration of the stadium’s closure to two league matches and one Europa League qualifier.
“It’s a great decision for all the fans,” explained Karol Klimczak, Lech’s chairman. “Obviously, playing at home in front of a crowd is always an advantage. We play for the fans and we wanted them to return to our stadium and support us as soon as possible.”
Lech Poznan attempted to influence the Voivode’s decision through the chairman’s participation in the executive team that works alongside the Voivode and concentrates on the so-called “reparative project”. The focus points of the project include changes in the stadium’s infrastructure, educational programs, training courses for the informational services and cooperation with the club’s fan association.
The Voivode’s new decision means that the second leg of Europa League qualifier against Shakhtyor Soligorsk will be played in front of a crowd. The first league game that the fans will be able to watch from the stands is the August clash with Wisla Cracow.
The tickets for the match against the Belarussian team will be on sale starting Saturday. Information about season tickets will be announced next week.
