After 2.5 years at Lech Poznań, Kristoffer Velde is joining last season’s UEFA Conference League winners, Olympiacos Piraeus, on a permanent transfer.
The Norwegian winger joined Lech Poznań back in January 2022. In the first 6 months in Greater Poland, Kristoffer appeared in 10 matches and even got an assist in his debut against Termalica Bruk-Bet Nieciecza. That season, Velde and his teammates celebrated the Polish Championship title. In the following campaign, the winger became a key figure in Lech’s squad, especially in the international arena – he scored twice in the home clash with Austria Vienna (4:1), and found the back of the net in the decisive group-phase match against Villarreal (1:0).
Moreover, Velde is the only player who scored in both legs of the quarter-final clash with Fiorentina. The Norwegian coach acknowledged his great form and the winger received a call-up for the European Championship qualifiers. Velde debuted for Norway’s senior squad in June 2023, against Cyprus.
During his time in Poznań, Kristoffer appeared in 98 games for Lech, accumulating 29 goals and 18 assists. Now he is moving to Olympiacos on a permanent transfer. The club from Pireus is the most titled Greek team with 47 championships in their account. Last season, Olympiacos finished third in the league, as well as won the UEFA Conference League.
Kris, thank you for representing Lech! We wish you all the best in your career!
