Two wins in 16 hours

Lech’s first team kicked off their league game against Wisła at 8:30 pm on Friday night. The next day, at 12:30 pm, the B-team appeared on the pitch in Bełchatów to play against local GKS. 16 hours is all the time that Antoni Kozubal needed to help his teammates in both matches.

Lech’s midfield is packed with talented players. Jesper Karlström, Nika Kvekveskiri, Radosław Murawski and Pedro Tiba compete with each other for a spot in the starting line-up. There is also the youngster Antoni Kozubal who is being closely observed by Maciej Skorża. The 17-year-old was given a chance to show his skills in the Friday league game against Wisła Cracow. He replaced Kvekveskiri on the pitch in the 73rd minute when the team from Poznań was already 4 goals up. It wasn’t the first time that Kozubal got to represent the senior squad on the pitch – on March 14^th, back under the lead of Dariusz Żuraw, the homegrown player of Benjaminek Krosko came in for the last few minutes. This time, Kozubal got to spend over 15 minutes on the pitch and show his potential to a crowd of 27 thousand.

The talented midfielder is more often seen running on the eWinner 2. Liga pitches. Kozubal has been a key figure in the B-squad and he has become a first-choice player for coach Węska. As a result, shortly after the match at Bułgarska street ended, the midfielder travelled to Bełchatów where, on the next day at 12:30 pm, Lech’s second team was facing GKS. Kozubal spent nearly 60 minutes on the pitch and helped his team deliver a 1:0 win. As a result, the youngster won six league points within 16 hours.

It’s not the first time that such a situation takes place – in spring, Norbert Pacławski debuted for the senior team against (also) Wisła Cracow and the next day, he helped the Older Juniors’ team win against Escola Varsovia Warsaw. The forward even scored a goal that day.
