Lech’s midfielder Pedro Tiba extended his contract with Lech Poznań. The deal is now going to last until 2022 with the option of extending the agreement for another year. “I have fallen in love with this club at first sight therefore, the decision came naturally for both sides. It hasn’t crossed my mind to leave the club; I wanted to stay here, give it all, and play the best I possibly can,” explained Lech’s player.
The 31-year-old joined Lech Poznań back in summer 2018. His initial contract would expire next year and considering that the Portuguese is a starting line-up player, it’s no wonder that the negotiations to extend the agreement have already started.
“Pedro is a key player, therefore, we were determined to get him to stay. The experience he’s gained playing on Spanish and Portuguese pitches has been very valuable to the youngsters who join the senior squad. You could already see last year that the balance between experience and youth has worked out really well for us,” explained Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
The Portuguese midfielder has so far played in 76 games for Lech, scored 6 goals and got 12 assists. “Right from the very beginning, Lech’s style of play enabled me to flourish. Every time I put on the club jersey I feel the responsibility it carries. The fans themselves know that it doesn’t matter whether things go well or not, I always leave my heart on the pitch. In addition, I am proud to be of help and guidance to the youth players,” emphasised Tiba.
