Lech’s first team currently resides in Wronki where the Academy training complex is located. The training camp is the first step of the preparations for the spring league round.
On Monday 14th of January, Lech’s senior players clocked in and began the preparations for the upcoming league matches. The first-team footballers enjoyed long winter holidays and are the last squad to begin post-Christmas training. “The team has begun training for the autumn league round very early hence I made the decision to let the players rest a bit longer. Mental preparation is crucial. It’s important for the players to be hungry to play,” explained Adam Nawalka, Lech’s coach.
Since Tuesday, Lech’s players are in Wronki attending a 3-day training camp. Among those whom Nawalka chose for the grouping, you will find both first team footballers and Academy youngsters. “32 players are going to travel to Wronki. 32 or 31 of them will go to Turkey but I won’t be announcing the final squad for the camp until the end of the week,” highlighted the coach.
“The trip to Wronki has been planned a long time ago. The training camp is a good idea in terms of logistics – the infrastructure, transport, distance from Poznan, and conditions. In Popowo there is a great new-generation artificial pitch too,” emphasised Nawalka.
During the grouping in Wronki, the players have 2 training sessions scheduled per day. Aside from typical exercises with the ball, the team will also undertake a running endurance test on Wednesday. “3 days of hard work, a training session in Poznan, and grouping in Turkey starting Saturday. The plan has been designed carefully and it’s time to put it into life,” added the coach.
