The fans look at statistics

Last week the 29 year-old was a part of Lech’s starting lineup twice. The footballer has been absent from the first eleven for the three games. “I feel well. I knew that sooner or later I was going to return to the starting lineup. I had no problem with the fact that I was given less minutes. There is no point in arguing with the coach. My task is to show during the training sessions and during the games what I am capable of and that I deserve to be in the first eleven. In football, you’re as good as your last performance. Therefore, I focus on the present,” said the midfielder.

Majewski added another assist to his account in the match against Wisla Plock. It was his pass that Kownacki converted into an opening goal. “If I had more assists and more goals, I would be rated differently. In Poland, similarly to Greece, the fans look at your statistics and base their opinion on the numbers. I had a couple of bad matches, but also a few good ones. At the beginning of the season I lost the role of a key player, but I am optimistic and I know I have to adapt to the situation,” emphasized Majewski.

On Friday Lech will face Ruch Chorzow for the second time this season. The first clash ended with Lech winning 3:0. “We played a good game. However, Polish Cup is a totally different thing. In the league it is all about collecting points. The coaches are probably going to rotate the squads. Ruch is a good team and even though we could have won even higher in the recent clash in the league, this time we might struggle to score a goal, since no match is ever the same. We are going to Chorzow with an aim to collect three points and this is all that matters for now,” said the midfielder.

The win is even more significant as the team led by Bjelica hasn’t yet won two games in a row since the new coach started workinh for the club. “The beginning of the season wasn’t as good for us, but we have been improving recently. Nevertheless, we still lack fluency. If we are to advance up the league rank, we need points. We are in better physical and mental condition and our performances have been improving too. If we win on Friday, we will collect three points twice in a row. We are well prepared and it is all up to us how the match is going to end. I remain optimistic,” told us the 29 year-old.
