According to Karol Linetty, the Swiss Champions aren't a better team than Lech Poznan and that the latter club is capable of making a surprise. "We want to play in the next round of Champions League qualifications," said the midfielder.
The first leg against Basel was a chance for Linetty to return to the team after a period of absence forced by an injury. Lech's homegrown player was appreciated by the rival's coach, however the footballer himself was disappointed because his team lost, despite putting up a fight. The representative of Poland believes that tomorrow things might look differently. "I feel the desire for revenge, because we weren't worse than Basel when playing in Poznan," claimed the player, immediately pointing out the aspects of the gam that Lech has to improve. "We have to be more solid in defense, play closer to one another so that the ball sent to forwards won't pass us by. In the first match we knew how to close up the zones in which the rival was playing out the ball and until the red card, the game was balanced."
Lech's players believe they can advance further, however, they don't deny that it's a very hard task. Even though Lech eliminated Blekitni Stargard Szczecinski in the Polish Cup after losing 1:3 in the first leg, the class of the opponent is incomparable. Linetty himself has never yet faced such a high-ranked rival as Basel. "Similar situations took place, but it was years ago. Basel is on a totally different level."
