Marcin Robak and Dawid Kownacki are Ekstraklasa’s most efficient duo. The two forwards have already scored 12 goals in total for the team from Poznan.
Nenad Bjelica’s contentment is nothing surprising. Shortly before the clash with Slash Wroclaw, the coach repeated how he has no reasons to worry when it comes to his forwards. “If there is a problem we have, it is the choice we have to make between Robak and Kownacki, but it is a problem I consider a positive one,” explained Bjelica on the Friday pre-match press conference.
At last the coach decided to place Kownacki in the starting lineup. The youngster scored a goal in all the 5 out of 6 matches he played in recently. After a successful appearance in the U-21 Polish National Team where he scored the only goal in the clash with Germany, the striker came back with high morals. Therefore, Bjelica sent Kownacki on the pitch to compete since the first whistle. Even though the striker did not get a goal himself, he nearly added an assist to his account.
Nevertheless, it was Marcin Robak that had the biggest influence on the match. The 33 year-old forward scored 2 goals within 30 minutes and he is the first striker to score more than 10 goals in Ekstraklasa this season. In total, Robak has 11 goals on his account. However, for Robak it isn’t anything unusual. In the season 2013/14 the footballer was the top scorer, having found the back of the net 21 times. The season after the forward scored 11 times only.
Currently there is no better duo in Ekstraklasa than Kownacki and Robak. The two are a guarantee that a goal is going to be scored every 110 minutes. Second in the rank are Marco Paixao and Grzegorz Kuswik who score for Lechia Gdansk every 189 minutes on average. The first one has 5 goals on his account, while the latter scored 6 times already. Nonetheless, Lechia’s duo isn’t as efficient as Jaroslaw Niezgoda and Jakub Arak who compete for Ruch Chorzow. The two have scored 8 goals in total, but they find the back of the net every 130 minutes.
