Mario Situm is out for at least six weeks. The Croatian underwent medical tests on Monday and the initial diagnosis was confirmed. However, he’s not the only player that’s suffered an injury recently.
Situm called for a substitution in the first half of the clash with Lechia Gdansk. In the 27th minute, the Croatian was replaced by Mihai Radut. “Mario has damaged the ligaments in his ankle and, therefore, he will have to recover for about six to eight weeks. For now we need to wait for the swelling to subside. In a week’s time the player will undergo further medical tests,” explained Andrzej Pyda, the club’s medic.
Rafal Janicki underwent tests on Monday as well. The defender also suffered an ankle injury and had to be taken off the pitch in the match against Lechia Gdansk. “The tests didn’t prove a serious injury. Janicki will return to training sessions in the next couple of days. That’s when we will decide whether the player is ready to compete, or not,” added the club’s doctor.
Meanwhile, Nicki Bille underwent a treatment of his broken nose. For the next week, the player will train individually. “Most likely Bille will join his teammates the following week, however, he will have to wear a protective mask. The player should be ready to play after the break for national team groupings,” explained doctor Pyda.
