Robert Gumny was called up for the Polish national team ahead of the Euro 2020 qualifiers. Brzeczek’s squad will face Austria in an away match and Latvia at home.
On Monday coach Brzeczek announced the squad for the upcoming international games. Lech’s right-back was called up for the national team for the first time in his career. So far, the young defender has been competing for the U-21 team managed by Michniewicz.
The Polish national team will play two 2020 European Championship qualifiers. On March 21st, the squad will face Austria in Vienna, and 3 days later the team will play against Latvia in Warsaw.
Robert Gumny has 60 clubs caps on his account, including 51 league appearances. The 20-year-old debuted for the senior team in 2015/2016 season in a home clash with Legia Warsaw. The young right-back was forced to take a break from playing due to a knee injury, however, he has already recovered and has been appearing on the pitch regularly. His performances attracted the attention of the senior national team coach, hence Gumny will get an opportunity to debut for Polish A-team.
