The past autumn round has been an exhilarating one for Lech. The club from Poznań fought on three different fronts – in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, Fortuna Polish Cup, and the UEFA Conference League. When it comes to attendance, the City Stadium is ranked in the top, both in Poland and in Europe.
Lech Poznań achieved some impressive numbers in the autumn of 2022. The players led by John van den Brom regularly received the support of a big crowd. 7560 fans bought season or autumn round tickets – the highest number since 2015 when Lech last won the Polish Championship.
The autumn round ticket included nine PKO BP Ekstraklasa. The average attendance in those league games was 18,331 – which puts Lech in the second position. In four of the mentioned matches, a crowd of over 20 thousand filled in the stands. On October 1st, when Lech faced Legia Warsaw at home, 35,410 fans came to the Poznań City Stadium to support the team.
When it comes to the European competition, nearly 10 thousand supporters decided to purchase “package deal” tickets enabling them to see Lech play against international opponents in the Europa Conference League group phase. With an average attendance of 22,501 during the European games, Lech was ranked third on the Old Continent – only West Ham United and 1. FC Köln attracted bigger crowds to their international matches.
Interestingly, when we look at the games played at Bułgarska Street between teams from different nations, the attendance during Lech’s home game against Villarreal was the fifth highest since the Euro 2012.
