Lech might have been considered a definitive favorite against Znicz as no one predicted any other result than a win, however the coach warned against underestimating the rival. The guests created their first chance in the 8th minute, but Keita's shot from the free kick was successfully saved by the goalkeeper. Shortly afterwards Formella's strong shot slightly missed the post. A few minutes later the winger, having dribbled past the defending players, sent a great pass to Ubiparip, but the latter didn't change the result. However, in the 16th minute it was already 1:0 for Lech. Henriquez addressed the ball to Ubiparip, but the defenders stopped the ball. Unfortunately for them, Linetty won it over and his precise shot fell into the back of the net. The hosts attempted to cause trouble to their opponents, but usually they lacked precision. In the 20th minute Rackiewicz's shot was blocked by Kadar. A moment later Gorski posed a threat to Lech, but Buric intervened successfully. The guests were in control of the play, but a single mistake could have cost them a goal. In the 38th minute Ubiparip lost the ball in the midfield and in the result one of the Znicz players found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the sent the ball flying above the goal.
The beginning of the second half was dominated by the hosts and their offensive actions finally brought results. In the 49th minute Lech's defense gaped and the following a free kick Arkadiusz Jedrych got the ball and he placed it in the net from 15 meters. 3 minutes later Znicz built a practically identical action and if it wasn't for the post, they would take over the lead. When Zaur Sadajew came on, the game changed. It took him one touch to make the result 2:1. The forward sent a pass from the left flank, Kownacki let it through and Formella placed it in the net. Sadajew emphasized his great form with two goals of his own. In the 65th minute He finished Tralka actions with a shot from a close distance and 2 minutes later he made it 4:1. Since the 80th minute Lech played with an advantage of one men, as Gorski was sent off following his furious behavior. In the injury time Keita set the final result, finishing Pawlowski's play.
