Lech Poznan lost the league clash with Piast Gliwice 0:4. Parzyszek, Felix, Kirkeskov and Valencia scored for the hosts.
The first half was difficult for the team from Poznan, especially considering Lech’s recent results. For a long time, the two sides fought for the ball in the midfielder and failed to entertain fans with scoring chances. Only Piast occasionally managed to come close to Lech’s goal. In the 16th minute, the team from Gliwice got their first goal-scoring opportunity but Dziczek’s shot was off target.
Lech was determined to cause problems to Piast’s defensive line but they struggled to pass through the wall that guarded their opponent’s goal. Amaral and Tiba were the most active players and they were often the ones to create or finish Lech’s offensive attempts. In the 29th minute, Tiba left behind one of the defending players and fired a shot at Piast’s goal, but the attempt was slightly off target. The team from Gliwice was more efficient and they successfully placed the ball in the back of the net in their following offensive action thanks to Parzyszek’s precise header.
Piast dominated the second half as well. In the 48th minute, the hosts intercepted the ball on the right flank and sent a cross into the box where Parzyszek was waiting, but this time his shot was slightly too weak and imprecise. However, the team from Gliwice was indisputably the better side and remained in control of the game. Their next offensive attempt forced Lech’s defenders to make individual mistakes which allowed Felix to put the ball in the net and change the score to 2:0. The players from Poznan were in a tough spot which only resulted in more mistakes and more chances for Piast to attack their goal. A moment later, Valencia tried surprising Buric but his shot stopped on the post.
In the 65th minute, Lech conceded the third goal. Janicki fouled one of Piast’s keepers just outside the box and Kirkeskov converted the free kick into an impressive goal. 5 minutes later, Piast set the final score to 4:0 following a cross from the right flank and Valencia's precise and effortless finish.
Tiba had a chance to score for Lech shortly before the referee blew the final whistle, but Piast’s keeper saved the penalty kick and the match ended with a four-goal win for the hosts.
