The 29 year-old Dane has played for Odense for the past 2 years and added 59 appearances to his account with the club's jersey on. "He is great at the destruction of the play and is a great leader. With the right configuration of the center backs, he might provide strength to the team. Moreover, Nielsen doesn't panic under pressure. He isn't afraid of direct clashes with the opponents and is aggressive when playing one-against-one," explained Karol Klimczak, the chairman of the club.
The player is very enthusiastic about the transfer too. "I have spent three great days in Poznan. The people at the club are very kind. I am proud to be here. I am satisfied and optimistic about my future here. I am about to take another step in my career and I need to be well prepaped for it. I can't wait to meet the fans," said Nielsen.
The footballer will compete with Paulus Arajuuri and Maciej Wilusz for a spot in the starting lineup. "He plays really well in the air and attacks the ball bravely. His commitment and concentration in the defense are at the highest level. He knows how to provide back-up for his teammates both, from the midfield and from the defense line," highlighted the chairman.
The defender has a contract with Odense until June 30th, however the club let the footballer join his new team ahead of the pre-season. The center back will meet his teammates on June 13th. He will play with no. 3 on the back of his shirt.
