Seven male and six female Lech Poznań players have been called up by their national teams. Three of them will have an opportunity to compete at the upcoming EURO 2024, however, before the tournament kicks off, their squads will face various opponents in friendly games.
Bartosz Salamon made it into the 29-men preliminary squad for the upcoming European Championship that will be held in Germany. Coach Michał Probierz also called up the defender for the friendlies against Ukraine and Turkey which will precede Euro 2024. At the European tournament, the Polish National Team will compete in Group D alongside the Netherlands, Austria, and France.
Miha Blažič is in a similar situation to Salamon - the Slovenian defender has been named a part of the preliminary squad for Euro 2024 and has also received a call-up for his National Team’s friendlies, against Armenia and Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, Nika Kvekveskiri is sure of his appearance at the upcoming European Championship. The Georgian National Team has already announced the squad that will travel to Germany to fight in the group with Turkiye, Czechia, and Portugal. However, before Willy Sagnol’s team competes at the Euro 2024, they will play a friendly against Montenegro.
Filip Marchiwński, Filip Szymczak, Antoni Kozubal, and Maksymilian Pingot have one more match to play before the summer break - Poland’s U-21 squad will play a friendly game against Northern Macedonia on June 1st, in Radom.
Meanwhile, on May 31st, Poland’s Female U-19 squad began their international break. Six Lech Poznań players have made it into the squad – Małgorzata Jurek, Matylda Kościelak, Julia Przybył, Martyna Łuczak, Zofia Wojciechowska, and Monika Poniedziałek. The Poles will face Slovakia in a friendly match.
