Ten Lech Poznań players were called up by their national teams. Half of them will compete in the Nations League with the senior squads.
Jakub Kamiński and Tomasz Kędziora will get an opportunity to appear in Czesław Michniewicz’s squad for the first time. The Polish national team will face their rivals from Group 4 of the Nations League. On Wednesday, the Poles will compete against Wales, and within the following two weeks, they will also play against the Netherlands and twice against Belgium.
Meanwhile, Jesper Karlström and his Swedish colleagues will compete in League B. The midfielder has received his second call-up for the Swedish squad, and he will have an opportunity to play against Slovenia, Serbia, and Norway (twice). Slovakia has been assigned to the lower division – League C. Lubomir Šatka and his teammates have matches scheduled against Belarus, Azerbaijan, and two against Kazakhstan. Nika Kvekveskiri and the Georgian national team compete in the same division of the Nations League, but in Group 4. Sagnol’s squad is going to face Bulgaria, Gibraltar, and North Macedonia in the upcoming days.
The Polish U-21 national team, with Michał Skóraś in the squad, also has important matches scheduled for this international break. The youth team will fight for a spot at the 2023 European Championship with San Marino, and then Germany. Filip Marchwiński and Filip Szymczak have been called up for the U-20 ahead of the friendly game with Italy.
Meanwhile, Lech’s youth players Jakub Antczak and Antoni Kozubal will join the Polish U-18 national team for the friendly tournament in Slovenia where they will play against North Macedonia, Slovenia, and one more rival that is yet to be announced.
