Less than three weeks left until the European Championship – the main attraction of the upcoming international break. Below is the schedule of Lech Poznań players who have been called up by their national teams.
The only Lech player who will have an opportunity to play the Euros is Lubomir Šatka who already has 11 caps on his account. The Slovakian national team began the international break on May 24th and before the European Championship kick off, the squad will play two friendly games – against Bulgaria (June 1st, 6:00 pm) and Austria (June 6th, 5:30 pm). In the group stage of the European tournament, Slovakia is going to face Poland, Sweden and Spain.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s national team coach, Willy Sagnol, called up Nika Kvekveskiri for the upcoming friendly games. The midfielder is a key figure in the Georgian squad – he has 36 caps on his account and he will have a chance to further improve his statistics on June 2nd, against Romania (8:45 pm), and on June 6th, against Netherlands (6:00 pm).
On May 17th-20th, the Polish U-21 national team held a short grouping; Jakub Kamiński, Michał Skóraś, as well as Filip Marchwiński were all called up by their coach. Meanwhile, U-19 manager Mariusz Rumak has asked Filip Borowski and Maksymilian Pingot to join the Polish youth squad for their training camp which is going to take in Gniewino, May 31st to June 3rd.
Five Lech Poznań youngsters will have a chance to represent the U-16 Polish squad in the upcoming friendly games. Dominik Janeczek, Mateusz Wójcik, Dawid Zięba and Bartosz Tomaszewski were all called up ahead of the training matches against Slovenia. Interestingly, during Poland’s U-15 international break (May 10th-13th), Lech Poznań players made up the majority of the squad – 12 youngsters from Bułgarska street were called up the U-15 coach.
