National team schedule – who, where and when?

The Polish senior national team has an intense schedule with 3 games within 7 days, two of which are Nations League clashes. The match against Finland will be a warm-up clash before the Poles go on to face a tough rival that is the Italian national team. After playing against Azzurri, the Polish squad will compete against Bosnia & Herzegovina which they beat a month ago 2:1. The 27-player squad that has been called up by Jerzy Brzęczek includes Jakub Moder – who has recently been purchased by Brighton & Hove Albion FC – and Alan Czerwiński, for whom it’s the first-ever call-up for the senior squad. In addition, the Polish squad also includes a few Lech homegrown players who no longer compete for the team from Poznań, such as Jan Bednarek, Bartosz Bereszyński, Tomasz Kędziora, Kamil Jóźwiak and Karol Linetty.

The Georgian national team also has a busy week ahead of them. Nika Kacharava will get a chance to compete in three matches with stakes. Weiss’s squad will fight with Belarus in the EURO 2021 playoffs and then against Armenia and North Macedonia – the current leader in the group – in the Nations League competition. Lubomir Šatka has also received a call-up from the Slovak national team coach but due to a cold, he is going to stay in Poznań.

The U-21 Polish national team still needs to secure their spot in the EURO 2021 tournament. The Poles are just one point behind the Russian squad (i.e. the current leaders of the group), but the red-and-white team still has an additional match to play and last time they faced the Russians – a few weeks before – they triumphed 1:0. Michniewicz decided to call up two Lech Poznań players – Tymoteusz Puchacz and Jakub Kamiński – as well as Paweł Tomczyk who is currently loaned to Stal Mielec, and two former Academy talents - Robert Gumny and Dawid Kurminowski.

Meanwhile, Filip Marchwiński and Jakub Niewiadomski will be joining the U-19 Polish squad. Magiera’s team is going to play a friendly, two-leg clash with Denmark.
