On Friday the former top goal scorer of T-Mobile Ekstraklasa signed a 2-year long contract with Lech. Two seasons ago the forward scored 21 goals in the league and since now on he will be representing the club from Poznan.
In November Marcin Robak will be 33 years old. He is an experienced player known for his efficiency. During his career he had the opportunity to play on football pitches in foreign countries. Robak was born in Legnica and he is the homegrown player of the local Konfeks.
The forward left Konfeks to represent Miedz Legnica and later on he played for Korona Kielce and Widzew Lodz. His carrier took him all the way to Turkey where the player scored goals for Konyaspor Kulübü and Mersin dman Yurdu SK to later return to Poland. In 2013 he became the player of Piast Gliwice and 6 months later he was transferred to Pogon Szczecin, where he remained until this summer.
"He's the type of player we haven't had in our squad until the joined us," said coach Skorza. "In every single team Robak played for he scored a large number of goals. I count on his efficiency. He is experienced and familiar with both Polish and foreign football."
The forward signed a 2-year long contract with Lech, with the possibility of extension of the agreement for another year. He will wear number 22 (in his first season in Pogon Szczecin he scored 22 goals). He is well-known in Poznan for being the lasher of Lech, having scored 8 goals against the team he now joined.
"I am happy with being as efficient. Probably the fans remember me for those goals, however now I'll be scoring not against, but for Lech," said Robak. "I have had offers from multiple clubs, but I wanted to play in Poznan. Lech is the Champion and it has a strong squad with various players who score goals. I want to make the statistics even better, but the team is the priority."
It is the first signing made by Lech ahead of the upcoming season. "We are working on other transfers and we will reveal them soon," said Karol Klimczak, the chairman of the club. "We cannot out rule selling one of the players, however our aim is to compete in the qualifications for the European cups with the strongest possible squad."
