Maciej Makuszewski is out for between 6 to 9 months. During the Sunday match against Cracovia, the midfielder tore the anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments. The chance of Makuszewski competing for Lech this season is slim, however, that depends on the player’s recovery pace.
In the 25th match of the Sunday clash with Cracovia, Makuszewski sustained a grave-looking injury. Whilst attempting to recover the ball at a high speed, the midfielder made an unnatural step and twisted his knee. With the help of club physios, the player left the pitch. On Monday, Makuszewski underwent medical tests including magnetic resonance under the supervision of an experienced specialist, Dr. Marcin Dzianach.
“Makuszewski tore two ligaments: anterior cruciate and lateral collateral. A surgery is necessary. Depending on the recovery pace, Maciej won’t play for the next 6 to 9 months,” explained Dr. Andrzej Pyda.
“In addition, during halftime of the Sunday match, Maciej Gajos was also forced to leave the pitch. The captain suffered an ankle injury during one of the direct clashes with the opponent. “The player won’t compete in the upcoming match against Zaglebie Lubin. There is a chance he won’t be at the coach’s disposal for the match with Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza either. For the next couple of days, Maciej will train individually and his progress will be closely monitored,” said the club’s medic.
Emir Dilaver also suffered during the Sunday match following a number of direct clashes with players from Cracow. Therefore, on Tuesday the defender will train individually and the medical team will take further decisions after monitoring the player’s condition.
