Maciej Makuszewski debuted for the Polish national team in the Friday clash with Denmark, which the Poles lost 0:4.
The winger appeared on the pitch in the 67th minute when Adam Nawalka’s team was already losing 0:3. Makuszewski replaced his former teammate, Karol Linetty. At first he was positioned on the left flank, but for the last 10 minutes he moved to the right side of the pitch.
The footballer will have another chance to compete for his national team on Monday when the Poles face Kazakhstan. Nawalka’s team has 3 points advantage over Montenegro and Denmark after 7 qualifiers. Apart from the Monday match, Poland still has to face Armenia and Montenegro on its way to World Cup.
So far this season Makuszewski competed for Lech in 13 matches, during which he scored twice and assisted 5 times.
