In the Sunday's game with Gornik Zabrze Lechs players put an end to 2 shameful series. The team of Maciej Skorza have won for the first time in a month and in addition it was the first time in 4 games that Lech did not give up the advantage they won at the beginning of the match.
The fans of Lech have been waiting since October 30th for their team to win. Last time Lech won at the INEA Stadium with Jagiellonia Bialystok 4:2 after an extra time and qualified for the quarter finals the of Polish Cup. Two draws - with Slask Wroclaw and Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala - and a lost match with Piast Gliwice followed.
In all these four games Lech took over the lead early in the match. This is how it looked:
Jagiellonia Bialystok (D) - Zaur Sadajew (8th second)
Slask Wroclaw (W) - Darko Jevtic (2nd minute)
Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala (D) - Dawid Kownacki (6th minute)
Piast Gliwice (W) - Szymon Pawlowski (3rd minuta)
All these games have a common factor - in neither did Lech manage to defend a beneficial result till the final whistle, although the match with Jagiellonia is an exception because the team managed to win, but they needed an extra time to do it.
Lech began the Sunday's clash with Gornik just as well with Kasper Hamalainen opening the score sheet in the 11th minute. However, this time the team from Poznan remained focused and they collected all three points.
"In the Polish League specific aggression in the game is relevant. We have a team of great potential, but without determination we won't be able to win points. I hope that everyone realized that last night and this is how we'll play from now on," said Maciej Skorza, the coach of Lech Poznan.
