Luck vs consequence

When asked about the Tuesday match, the two coaches, Skorza and Uscuplic, presented their completely different opinions. Lech's coach emphasized that despite the injuries and unpredicted changes, his team was still well organized. Uscuplic, however, highlighted how much of an important factor luck was in Lech's win that night.

We have just played a tough match against a demanding rival which has multiple well trained technically footballers. We have faced a determined team backed up by their supportive fans.

I am glad that we managed to win and score two goals without losing a single one, especially that the match did not begin too well for us. We have lost Karol, who is a very significant player. Luckily we were successful in keeping the rival away from our penalty area while we tried to create opportunities for ourselves. Tralka's great play gave us the lead. In the second half we tried to control the game and even though sometimes the opponent dominated, we were effective in defense. The second goal gives us a favorable result ahead of the match in Poznan, however everything still can happen. We have to remember that in the recent years the team from Sarajevo lost games at home and despite that they managed to advance thanks to good results when playing on the rival's home ground.

Lech had three opportunities to score a goal and two of them ended successfully for the team from Poznan. They were a bit lucky. I think that we did not deserve to be in such a position ahead of the second leg in Poznan. Today we were solid in defense having strengthened that formation with two very good players - Stepanov and Barbaric - who played really well tonight. We lost the first goal in an unfortunate situation when Stepanov wasn't on the pitch because he had to change his shirt that was covered in blood. In the second half we lost focus during one of the free kicks and it cost us a goal.

Our chances [to advance] aren't big. We will travel to Poznan to do the best we can, present ourselves from the good side and win a favorable result. Even though last season we have had situations where we did manage to catch up, but today it's Lech that we are facing and its a solid team, surely better than those rivals.
