Lech's first match in the second, final stage of the league season ended with a loss against Legia Warsaw. Aleksandar Prijovic scored the only goal of the match and set the final result to 1:0.
The match was indisputably characterized by the toughness of the play. The referee moved the boundaries and allowed for more than it usually happens. Nonetheless, it took the two teams 20 minutes to deliver emotions to the fans. In the 21st minute Prijovic recovered the ball that Arajuuri wanted to give back to Buric and even though the forward had only the goalkeeper left to beat, his shot wasn't on target.
For the next few minutes it was Lech that took control over the game. Jevtic and Bille had their goal-scoring opportunities, but the former's shot hit the side net, while the Dane’s attempt was stopped by the goalkeeper and later blocked by the defender.
Shortly before halftime Legia got another chance to score. Again, Prijovic played the main role in the offensive action but, although he received a great pass from Nikolic, his shot from a few meters flew above the crossbar.
After the two teams changed the sides, Lech dominated for a while again. In the 48th minute the team from Poznan built an offensive action that Gajos finished off with a shot, but not on target. Nicki Bille had a good chance to score too, but his attempt was successfully stopped by Malarz. On the other end of the pitch Lech's defenders were constantly kept busy. Moreover, despite Lech's good play, it was Legia that scored. Pazdan recovered the ball from Tetteh, passed it on to Nikolic and the forward sent a perfectly-timed pass to Prijovic who placed the ball in the net with an accurate and powerful shot.
Lech was trying hard to equalize, but it was Bille who came the closest to scoring and all the player managed to do was hit the post. The team from Poznan struggled to overcome Legia's solid defense. Pawlowski and Kownacki returned after their injuries, but even they couldn't change the score.
Meanwhile, shortly before the finish time, Legia could have scored another goal. Nikolic found himself one-against-one with Buric, but luckily for the guests, the goalkeeper won the clash and even managed to save the shot that Hamalainen fired a few moments later. Since no other goal was scored that night, when the referee whistled the end of the match, Legia had 3 more points on its account.
