Slawomir Peszko - Lech's former player - scored a goal in the European Championships 2016 qualifying game against Ireland. The match ended with a draw, and two more of Lech's ex-players appeared on the pitch.
In the 26th minute Peszko scored a magnificent goal with his left foot. A moment earlier the former winger of Lech Poznan, with the support of Maciej Rybus, took over the ball from the hesitant defenders right next to the penalty area. The goalkeeper was helpless.
The midfielder spent 87 minutes on the pitch and was subtituted by Michal Kucharczyk. A few minutes before being taken off, the player was shown a controversial yellow card. Last weekend Peszko visited INEA Stadium and watched his former team win with Legia Warsaw.
Lukasz Fabianski, who spent half a year in Kolejorz back in 2004, and Robert Lewandowski who played for the team from Poznan in the years 2008-2010, both played the whole 90 minutes. Karol Linetty had to watch the match from the bench, and so did two other ex-players of Lech - Lukasz Teodorczyk and Grzegorz Wojtkowiak.
