Having received a green light from the medical staff, Kacharava signed a contract with Lech Poznań. The Georgian player has joined the Polish club on a one-year loan from a Cyprian side Anorthosis Famagusta. The agreement includes a buyout clause.
Kacharava is a well-known figure to the Polish fans since he played for Korona Kielce back in 2017/18 and made a very good impression on the supporters of Ekstraklasa. The Georgian player made 29 appearances for the Polish team which was, back then, led by Gino Lettieri, scoring 9 goals and assisting his teammates 8 times.
Following the end of his loan at Korona Kielce, Kacharava moved to Cyprus where he played for Anorthosis Famagusta for two full seasons. Throughout the past two campaigns, the Georgian appeared on the pitch 44 times and got 10 goals along with 12 assists.
“Nika is joining us to reinforce the rivalry for a spot in the offensive formation. Of course, we already have Ishak who’s made a brilliant first impression and our homegrown youngster Szymczak who also started scoring but has recently suffered a minor injury. Not long ago, another offensive player joined our squad – Awwad – however, he is a more versatile footballer and he can perform as a no. 9, no. 10 and on the wing. Nika is a different type of player – strong, well-built with great physical attributes, hence our offensive formation is secured,” explained Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
Kacharava is a national team representative. So far, he wore Georgia’s shirt 19 times and got 2 goals for his home country, including a winner against Estonia in Nations League at the beginning of September. “For the past two years I played for Anorthosis Famagusta and I am happy to be able to reappear on the Polish pitches. Back when I competed for Korona Kielce, I had an opportunity to play in Poznań, therefore I am even more excited to be able to perform in front of this amazing crowd. I chose Lech because they always aim high and want to fight for trophies and I believe that I can be valuable to the team,” emphasised Lech’s new striker.
