Due to the recent successes Lech Poznan has returned to the Champions League after five years. Skorza's players will start off from the II qualifying round of the competition.
Champions League qualifications are divided into four rounds. After the last phase the best 10 teams - 5 from the champions group and 5 from the remaining group - will qualify to the group stage where the top 22 European teams will be waiting for their opponents.
The champion of Poland starts off the tournament from the II qualifying round. In theory, Lech is to face a weaker rival at this stage of the eliminations. Among the potential opponents are the well-known Zalgiris and Stjarnan.
Unfortunately, Lech won't be positioned in the III round because the draw will take place before the II round is finished. Nonetheless, Lech can face a weaker rival in the III round, but only if such a club eliminates any drawn-out team and "takes over" its place.
The draw of the I and II qualifying rounds of Champions League will take place on June 22th in the Swiss Nyon. Lech will play its first match on 14th or 15th July. The second leg will take place a week later.
