Lech Poznań - Wisła Cracow 2:5

Wisla kicked off the match with Ondrasek’s shot that was confidently stopped by Buric. Lech quickly responded with Gajos’s attempt that hit the post and Amaral’s impressive individual action that the offensive player finished off with a beautiful shot into the back of the net. 15 minutes into the game, Lech was given a penalty kick following handball and Gytkjaer effortlessly converted it into a second goal. The hosts had a perfect opportunity to set the score to 3:0 when Gajos’s shot was stopped by Wisla’s keeper and Amaral had an open net to shoot on but the latter’s attempt was slightly off target. The wasted chance took revenge on Lech and the guests scored shortly afterward. Janicki failed to control the ball which flew above his head and was recovered by Kostal who sent it flying next to Buric and into the back of the net.

For the next 15 minutes, the two teams fought for the ball in the midfield. Wisla seemed to be in possession of the ball for a majority of the time but it was Lech that kept on getting scoring chances. However, most of their attempts were easily saved by Wisla’s keeper or were imprecise. Amaral’s shot from a bicycle kick was also stopped by Lis. A few moments before halftime, Gajos fired a shot at Wisla’s goal that was rebounded by the keeper but none of Lech’s players reached the ball in time to score the third goal.

Wisla dominated the opening minutes of the second half and created multiple chances. One of the most dangerous offensive actions came from a corner kick but Buric intervened impressively and saved Wasilewski’s header. Shortly afterward, Wisla equalized. Initially, the goal was ruled offside, but VAR replay showed that Ondrasek’s goal was correct. It took Wisla another 5 minutes to score once more. This time Kostal ran into the box at full speed and sent a pass parallel to the goal whilst Gytkjaer unluckily placed it in his own net.

The goal was a wake-up call for Djurdjevic’s players. Amaral managed to fire a shot on target before Ondrasek scored another goal for Wisla. The tempo of the match slowed down but Wisla remained in control of the play. 10 minutes before the final whistle, Lech had an opportunity to score but Tomczyk’s header was off target. Similarly, Gytkjaer’s attempt was imprecise. Shortly before the end of the match, Wisla set the score to 5:2 after Kolar placed the ball in the back of the net despite being outnumbered by Lech’s defenders. The Sunday game was Lech’s first league loss this season.
