Lech's first match after the national groupings cannot be considered a successful one. The Polish Champions lost to Slask Wroclaw at INEA Stadium 0:1. Ryota Morioka scored the sole goal of the night.

The match began unluckily for the players from Poznan since before the game really began, the hosts were already losing. In the 9th minute Morioka fired a precise shot by the right corner and the ball fell into the back of the net. Even though the guests couldn't have imagined a better beginning, the players from Wroclaw kept on attacking. Another, similar shot was fired by Holota a few minutes later, but he, unlike Morioka, lacked accuracy.

The players from Poznan began dominating the play as the minute passed on. Jevtic was remarkably active that night. The Swiss player fulfilled the role of a playmaker and even entertained the fans with a few individual runs, but it wasn't enough to beat Slask's defense and equalize. The defenders from Wroclaw were extremely cautious throughout the match and ensured that Bille wouldn't cause any trouble.

In the 33rd minute Jevtic decided to lead an individual run. He left Holota behind in the midfield and fired a shot at the goal. Abramowicz managed to stop the ball, but did not catch it, and thus Bille attempted to recover it and place it in the net. Luckily for the guests, their goalkeeper intervened just in time. A few minutes the Dane tried something more spectacular, more precisely a bicycle kick, but he did not manage to hit the ball that Kedziora sent to him from the right flank.

As the referee resumed the play in the second half, Slask seemed determined to score another goal rather than defend and they came close to succeeding. In the 52nd minute Dudu sent a cross from the left flank that reached unmarked Mervo, but the latters shot wasnt on target. A few minutes later Morioka tried surprising Buric with a shot from an acute angle, but the goalkeeper intervened successfully.

Lech's players had nothing to lose and thus the coach made two substitution in the 63rd minute, changing his team's formation to a one with 3 central defenders only. This was meant to strengthen the offensive and increase the chance of an equalizer worth a point, but that also left the defense more exposed. Grajciar and Morioka had goal-scoring opportunities, but both failed to score another goal for their team.

The hosts dominated, remained in possession of the ball most of the time, but the score was favourable or their opponent. Lech was clearly unlucky that night; when Lovrencsics sent a cross into the penalty area, Kedziora missed the ball by centimeters and when Jevtic fired a shot at the goal, it was blocked. Even despite the closing minutes, which were marked by Lech constantly occupying Slask's penalty area and trying all methods to place the ball in the net, when the referee whistled for the last time, the score meant that all three points went to Wroclaw.
