Thanks to Mateusz Szczepaniak's goal, Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala triumphed at INEA Stadium and Lech Poznan yet again lost all three league points.
It was Podbeskidzie that Lech was to face right after the international break. The clash seemed interesting, especially that the two teams were on fourteenth and fifteenth position in the league rank and tonights winner would get a chance to start the march back to the top of the table.
Since the opening minutes Lech dominated the play and was very determined to score. Karol Linetty and Denis Thomalla both had their goal-scoring opportunities, but their shots were saved by Zubas. On the other half of the pitch it was Mateusz Mozdzen that caused trouble to Lech's defense line with his shots from outside the penalty area.
While the hosts attempted to build an offensive action that would finally result in a goal, the team from Bielsko-Biala waited for a chance to counterattack. Fueled by the loud support, the players from Poznan intensified their attacks shortly before the break. Tonight's debutant, Maciej Gajos had to good chances to change the score, but both headers flew above the crossbar.
The second half looked similar to the first 45 minutes. Lech remained in possession of the ball most of the time and the domination resulted in a few good goal-scoring opportunities, like the one Kaminski had. However, in the 57th minute to everyone's surprise guests scored a goal. Lech was in control of the play and the team from Poznan was caught off-guard when Adu sent a ball to Szczepaniak who was just entering the penalty area and the latter sent the ball flying next to Buric and into the goal.
Skorza's footballers pressed again in search of an equalizing goal, but shortly after conceding one, both Arajuuri and Lovrencsics wasted good goal-scoring opportunities.
In the last quarter of the match Podbeskidzie was forced to defend while more and more players from Poznan rushed into the offensive. However, Lech's attacks were chaotic and disorganized, and therefore they failed to equalize and in the result the current Polish Champion fell to relegation zone.
