Lech is back on the winning track. Niels Frederiksen’s squad won their second league game of the season, this time beating Lechia Gdańsk 3:1. Mikael Ishak (2) and Dino Hotić scored the goals for Lech.
Following last weekend’s loss against Widzew Łódź (1:2), the players emphasised that they ought to learn a lesson from their poor performance in the opening phase of the previous game and not make the same mistakes again. And they did just that – in the very first offensive attempt of the match against Lechia, the hosts found the back of the net. Mikael Ishak converted Dino Hotić’s cross into a goal. 30 minutes later, the Bosnian midfielder added his name to the goal scorer’s list after he received a beautiful cross from Adriel Ba Loua and redirected it into the goal with a header. However, Lech didn’t stop there – before the referee announced halftime, it was already 3:0. Afonso Sousa set up Ishak with a well-timed pass and the experienced captain put the ball in the net with a precise shot.
In the second half, the match wasn’t as fast-paced as in the first 45 minutes. The hosts remained in control of the game but failed to create as many goal-scoring opportunities. In the second half, Daniel Hakans – Lech’s latest signing – appeared on the pitch in his official debut for Lech. Shortly before the final whistle, Lechia Gdańsk scored their only goal of the game following a rebound and set the final score to 3:1. As a result, the three league points stayed in Poznań.
