Lech Poznan beat Chrobry Glogow 2:1 in the Saturday friendly match. Darko Jevtic and Oleksiy Khoblenko scored for the hosts.
Lech Poznan dominated the match shortly after the first whistle and in the 5th minute, the hosts had their first scoring chance when Jevtic fired a dangerous shot at the goal. However, the attempt was easily stopped by the Chrobry’s keeper. Meanwhile, the guests counterattacked but Machaj’s individual run was blocked by one of Lech’s defenders.
15 minutes into the game, Lech scored for the first time. Khoblenko received a cross from the flank and passed to Jevtic who redirected the ball into the back of the net with a strong shot. 4 minutes later Vernon de Marco tried adding the second goal to Lech’s account but the goalkeeper intervened without an error.
In the 37th minute, Khoblenko decided for an individual run which he finished off with a shot from outside the box, but it was effortlessly stopped by Chrobry’s keeper. Shortly afterward, the Ukrainian forward received a pass from Jevtic that he converted into another shot, but this time the ball flew above the crossbar.
Nenad Bjelica decided to make three substitutions at halftime, letting the experienced Tralka, Majewski, and Gytkjaer appear on the pitch. Khoblenko remained one of the most active players in the offensive. His attempt from the opening minutes of the 2nd half was off target. However, shortly afterward the Ukrainian striker successfully placed the ball in the net. Barkroth pushed down the right flank and sent a flat pass into the box where Khoblenko was waiting to tap the ball into the goal.
Surprisingly, in the 67th minute the score changed once more, but this time the guests scored. Chrobry’s players were given a free kick in the right zone of the pitch and Ilkow-Golab converted the pass into a goal. 5 minutes later Lech came close to responding with a goal of their own, but Tralka’s impressive volley was slightly off target.
15 minutes before the final whistle, Lech could have added another goal to their account when Gytkjaer was one-on-one with the keeper, but Dane’s attempt was successfully redirected by Chrobry’s goalkeeper. Shortly before the end of the game, Gytkjaer had another opportunity to score but once more he couldn’t beat the keeper.
