In the 24th league round, Lech Poznan beat Arka Gdynia 1:0 at home.
For the first 15 minutes, the two teams fought for the ball in the midfield. Nawalka’s players slightly dominated the game, however, neither of the sides created scoring chances until around the 20th minute. The hosts were the first ones to attack. Makuszewski, who was positioned behind the defensive line, received a well-timed pass and left the ball for Gytkjaer, but the latter’s shot was off target. Arka responded with an equally inaccurate attempt from Zarandia.
For the next few minutes, Arka took possession of the ball and created goal-scoring opportunities, including Jankowski’s header on target. However, surprisingly, it was Lech that scored. Jozwiak's precise and well-timed pass to Gytkjaer ended with the Danish striker sending the ball under the crossbar and into the net with a strong shot. It was his 12th league goal this season. Shortly before the referee announced halftime, Makuszewski added another goal on target to Lech’s statistics, but it was successfully stopped by Arka’s keeper.
The second half began with Jevtic’s individual run and a precise shot on target that was caught by Steinbors. On the other end of the pitch, Zarandia fired two shots at Buric’s goal but neither of them reached the back of the net. For the next 10 minutes, the play once again revolved around the midfield. Finally, the team from Gdansk attacked, but the goalkeeper stopped Jankowski’s header effortlessly. Meanwhile, Gumny tried surprising Steinbors, however, he too failed to beat the keeper.
Arka was clearly determined to equalize but created few goal-scoring opportunities most of which were easy for Buric to stop. Lech dominated the closing minutes of the match. Shortly before the final whistle, Arka came very close to scoring, however, luckily for Lech, Siemaszko sent the ball flying above the crossbar, therefore Lech collected all three points.
