The training staf decided to give a chance to the reserve players. Those that did not get too many minutes before, were given an opportunity against Amkar. The Russian players dominated since the beginning of the match, however Lech's solid defense made it hard for the opponents to turn the domination into goals. Amkar had their first chance in the 15th minute when Georgi Peev received the ball just outside the penalty area, however his volley wasn't too hard to stop for Gostomski. 4 minutes later Lech scored the first goa. Zaur Sadajew received a pass in the penalty area, dribbled past a player and was fouled. The referee pointed to the white spot without hesitation. David Holman was the one to take the penalty and his strong shot under the crossbar got him the first goal for Lech. The Russian players began to attack more bravely. They equalized in the 38th minute, however the goal was correctly disallowed. Jakubko wasn't the one to beat Gostomski, but he took part in the play, and therefore the referee stopped the game. A minute later it could have been 2:0 for Lech. Once again the referee whistled a penalty, although this time it was Sanocki who was fouled. However, Holman hit the crossbar and the result remained unchanged.
The second half began with intense attacking of the Russian players. Not only did they send long balls to the tall Jakubko, but they also tried surprising Lech's goalkeeper with shots from a distance. Yet once again it was Lech who scored a goal. In the 53rd minute Sadajew send a pass to Formella, who decided for a volley. The shot was strong enough to cause big problems to Selihov and the ball found its way into the net due to the goalkeeper's unfortunate intervention. Amkar had multiple chances to change the result in their favor. However, they seemed unlucky and every successful attempt to trick Lech's defense was usually stopped by Kotorowski.
