In the second league game following the winter break, Lech Poznań drew with Zagłębie Lubin 0:0 at Bułgarska street.
Lech did not kick off 2021 the way that they wanted to. In the first match after the winter training camp, the team from Poznań ended up sharing league points with Górnik Zabrze (1:1). The objective was to bounce back in the home game with Zagłębie Lubin but things didn’t go according to plan. The first half was a poor performance from Lech players - Bartosz Salamon’s header, which was easily stopped by Dominik Hałdun, was the only offensive attempt worth highlighting. On the other end of the pitch, Mickey van der Hart was forced to intervene more often but he successfully stopped Samuel Mraz’s and Łukasz Poręba’s shots.
In the second half, Lech looked much better, but Zagłębie decided to move deeper into defence, and the hosts had a hard time creating scoring chances. In the end, Lech failed to break down Zagłębie’s defensive line despite Michał Skóraś’ perfect goal-scoring opportunity in the added time – unfortunately for the team from Poznań, the young player’s shot was off target.
