Lech won the league clash with Wisła Płock. On Friday, the team from Poznań defeated their opponent 4:1 at home and secured their position as the leader of PKO BP Ekstraklasa.
Both sides showed their determination to win points early in the match. Within a few minutes of the first whistle, Bartosz Salamon converted a corner kick into a header on target which left the goalkeeper helpless. Wisła Płock quickly responded with a successful attempt of their own – a throw-in on Lech’s half of the pitch caused chaos in the hosts’ penalty area and Dusan Lagator got to the ball just in time to place it in the back of the net.
The fans gathered at Bułgarska street had to wait until the second half to see more goals. Lech indisputably dominated in the second part of the game and successfully converted their advantage into goals. Radosław Murawski scored his debut goal in the 53rd minute, whereas Jakub Kamiński changed the score to 3:1 with a beautiful, technical shot 20 minutes later. Finally, in the 88th minute, Joao Amaral set the final score to 4:1 with a great individual counterattack and a precise, strong shot into the back of the net.
The Poznań Stadium remains unconquered. The next two league games Lech will play away – against Stal Mielec and Górnik Łęczna – before returning to Bułgarska street on November 20th, for the clash with Piast Gliwice.
