Lech Poznań – Korona Kielce 1:2
In the last match of the 2023/2024 PKO BP Ekstraklasa season, Lech Poznań was defeated by Korona Kielce at home. As a result of the win, Korona managed to avoid relegation.
Lech Poznań took the lead late in the first half when Mikael Ishak found a way to beat Xavier Dziekoński. The Swede’s precise shot near the post gave Lech an advantage which they held onto until halftime. However, the second half looked much different. In the 53rd minute, Filip Marchwiński received a red card for a foul and everything went downhill from there. Korona took advantage of Lech’s weakening and within less than 15 minutes, Jewgienij Szykawka scored two goals which gave Korona a win and helped avoid relegation from the top division.
Meanwhile, Lech Poznań finished the 2023/2024 league season in the 5th rank.
