Third match and second win – the beginning of the 2021/22 season has been a positive one for Lech. In the 3rd round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa, the team from Poznań beat Cracovia 2:0.
It was evident from the start which of the sides was going to focus on the offensive, and which had a tactical plan to concentrate on the defence. Lech didn’t waste time and started attacking with full force since the first minute. It didn’t take long for the hosts to place the ball in the net but Mikael Ishak, whose scissor kick shot left Niemczycki helpless, didn’t celebrate for long as VAR ruled the goal incorrect due to an offside.
The team from Poznań beat Cracovia’s defensive line again in the second half. Bartosz Salamon surprised everyone with a strong shot from outside the box, right under the crossbar, which Cracovia’s keeper was unable to stop. A few minutes later, the scoreboard displayed a two-goal advantage for Lech. Similarly to the recent clash with Górnik Zabrze, Jakub Kamiński had a bit of luck as his shot was redirected by one of Cracovia’s defenders and, therefore, surprised the goalkeeper. Lech stayed in control of the game for the remaining 35 minutes and was able to add three league points to their account.
Lech’s next league clash is scheduled for Friday – that’s when the team from Poznań will face Bruk-Bet Termalica in an away game (6 pm).
