Seven Lech Poznań players from five different categories have been nominated for the PKO BP Ekstraklasa awards. A jury made of 36 experts from regional and national media, as well as Ekstraklasa SA and Polish FA, will decide which of the footballers wins their respective category.
According to the official Ekstraklasa website, the experts on the voting panel will choose three best coaches and players from each category. Meanwhile, the voting for the most prestigious award – that is, the Player of the Season – has a different format. The two players nominated for the award are Mikael Ishak and Joao Amaral. The winner, as per tradition, will be decided in a poll in which all PKO BP Ekstraklasa will participate.
The winners will be announced at the Ekstraklasa Gala which will once again be held in front of an audience and is scheduled for May 23rd, 8:30 pm. The event will be broadcasted by CANAL+ Sport, TVP Sport, as well as YouTube, and Facebook. During the ceremony, the Goal Scorer of the Season and Youth Player of the Season – selected together with PKO BP from this season’s youth player of the months – will also be awarded. In addition, this year’s edition of the gala will also include a totally new award for the Number of the Season prepared together with Totalizator Sportowy. Moreover, sports broadcasters will also hand out their own award – CANAL+ for Turbokozak of the Season and Telewizja Polska for Goal of the Season.
