In the first training match on Saturday, Lech Poznań beat Hansa Rostock 4:0. Filip Marchwiński, Maksymalian Dziuba, and Artur Sobiech (twice) scored goals for the hosts. The second sparring game will start at 2 pm.
On Saturday, Lech scheduled two training games against Hansa Rostock. Similarly, to the two-leg friendly clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, coach John van den Brom chose a different line-up for each game. As a result, Michał Gurgul made his debut in the senior team.
Although the winter weather conditions didn’t make it easy for the two teams, Lech was in control of the game since the first whistle. The hosts stayed in possession of the ball and tried to surprise the opponent using both flanks. In the 23rd minute, Lech’s efforts bore fruit when Antoni Kozubal set up Artur Sobiech with a good pass and the forward won a direct clash with two defenders and beat Nils Korber with a flat shot. The 32-year-old striker was very active in the Saturday match and a few minutes later he had another goal-scoring opportunity, however, this time he failed to beat the German keeper. Despite the clear advantage on the pitch, Lech didn’t find the back of the net again in the first half.
In the second half, John van den Brom’s squad was more efficient and took advantage of the opponent’s mistakes. In the 63rd minute, Hansa’s goalkeeper made an error which enabled Filip Marchwiński to recover the ball and the young striker effortlessly beat Korber with a lob. Not long later, it was already 3:0. Joel Pereira raced into the box and sent a flat pass along the goal. Meanwhile, Sobiech was in the right place and tapped the ball into the net at the right time. In the 86th minute, Maksymilian Dziuba, who came in 10 minutes earlier, set the final score to 4:0 with a shot from outside the box.
Goals: Sobiech (23., 68), Marchwiński (63.), Dziuba (86.)
